What Torre Photography is

Torre Photography is a small independent desk about seeing, framing, and telling. The promise is concrete: light, frame, feeling. We publish practical notes on how pictures get made, and slower essays on why a body of work holds together.

Five sections, and nothing padded around them. Technique covers exposure, focus, and the choices made before the shutter. Portraits is about sittings and the people in them. Paysage follows places returned to, not postcards. Matériel looks at gear only when it changes the work. Regards is where we argue, quietly, about taste, archives, and what is worth printing.

The desk

Sofia Vasseur, editor-in-chief, Paris. She sets the line and writes Regards. She cares about sequences, and she cuts anything that flatters the photographer more than the picture.

Tomas Ribeiro, landscape correspondent, Porto. He writes Paysage from routes he walks more than once, in weather that is rarely convenient.

Helen Crowe, equipment editor, Leeds. She writes Matériel for people packing a bag, not for people collecting cameras.

Inès Fournier, portrait writer, Clermont-Ferrand. She covers sittings, available light, and the small technical choices that keep a face legible.
